Balsam Charity


community Kuwait Airways is dedicated to its corporate social responsibility and cooperates with the Kuwait Red Crescent, to provide relief for the less privileged and to bring a smile to their faces.

Kuwait Airways launched 'BALSAM', a humanitarian project jointly with the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, to provide remedial measures for the needy.

The objective of 'BALSAM' is to encourage passengers to donate coins or currencies, which will not be used back home or at their original destination. Further, the different kinds of currencies collected is then forwarded to the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, to be used in rescue operations and social services, for casualties and prisoners of war, as well as for needy children.​

To facilitate passengers to participate in this fundraising project, special envelopes carrying the slogan 'Bring a smile to their faces', is available on board all Kuwait Airways flights.​

The donations from Kuwait Airways passengers are forwarded to the Kuwait Red Crescent, a humanitarian society which supports charitable causes universally, and is a member of the International Red Cross.

It is yet another symbol of Kuwait Airways' strong commitment towards serving society. Kuwait Airways continues to extend additional efforts to expand the Company’s conscientious support for social and humanitarian causes.

Office of Humanitarian Services

In accordance with the vision of the late His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al- Jaber Al Sabah, ‘the leader of humanitarian work’ and to support humanitarian projects, particularly, since the State of Kuwait is the capital of humanitarian work and activities, the “Office of Humanitarian Services” at Terminal (4) has been inaugurated in the luggage weighing zone, in order to provide legal assistance and humanitarian services for needy passengers traveling on board Kuwait Airways.


The “Office of Humanitarian Services” is launched for providing humanitarian services to the needy and unwell passengers and their companion, related to wheelchairs, internal transportation, and other services.
Kuwait Airways is dedicated to humanitarian cases and full supports the charitable and rescue projects, in accordance with its corporate social responsibility policy.​

Kuwait Airways cooperates with Omniya Project

Within the framework of supporting communities, Kuwait Airways signed an agreement with Omniya Project for plastic bottles recycling and has distributed eight containers for the recycling of empty plastic drinking water containers in different areas in Kuwait. The project included allotment of four containers at Saad Al-Abdullah College for Security Sciences, Fintas area, the Kuwait Zoo, and at the Kuwait Airways headquarters at the Dajeej area.

Omniya is a national environmental and cultural project, founded in August 2015 by Kuwaiti trainers Sana Al-Qamlas, Farah Shaaban and Su'ud Al-Fawzan. The project aims at spreading awareness on the management waste allocation and recycling in the society, which contributes to reducing environmental pollution and excessive utilization of plastic waste.

With this in mind, Kuwait Airways continues its efforts to increase awareness and enrich the environment culture.

Kuwait Airways Hall at the College of Social Science, Kuwait University

As part of its corporate social responsibility and support to the educational establishments in Kuwait, as well as encouraging youths and educational systems, Kuwait Airways has renovated and inaugurated the Kuwait Airways Hall at the College of Social Science at the Kuwait University. The hall is equipped with the latest technology, in addition to comfortable new seats for the students.

Kuwait Airways contributes to the renovation of Ward 14 at the Al-Jahra Hospital

Kuwait Airways endeavored to meet the renovation requirements and contributed to equipping Ward number 14 of the Al-Jahra hospital in May 2018. The ward was designed and renovated in accordance with the latest international standards and medical specifications, approved by the World Health Organization. The ward comprised of nine private rooms and five general rooms, thereby increasing the hospital’s capacity by 28 beds.​
